Bastian Voice Institute

Teach Voice Presentation with Dr Robert BastianVocal therapists, coaches and singing teachers – this one’s for you!

Dr. Robert Bastian will be leading an informal, yet deeply insightful online discussion on April 7th at 8pm (UK/London), specifically designed for those who work with singers.

This won’t be your typical stuffy lecture – no endless slides or overcomplicated science. Instead, it’ll be a practical, clinician-meets-coach style conversation packed with useful takeaways you can apply immediately.

Dr. Bastian will be focusing on two patterns he’s identified after decades of laryngology work: Vocal Over-Doers and Under-Doers.

These patterns show up constantly in singers – and often, they’re misunderstood. In fact, many of the standard approaches to vocal tension and fatigue may be doing more harm than good, especially when dealing with under-doers.

What we’ll be covering:

  • Why singers are often underworking when it looks like overworking – and how to spot it
  • What excess vocal effort really looks like inside the voice
  • Approaches for voice building, assessment, and vocal health tailored to each type
  • Loudness setpoints, injury risk, therapy and even surgical considerations where relevant

Hosted by Chris Johnson for his TeachVoice.com community, this special session is being offered to the wider teaching community because the insights are simply too important to gate keep.

April 7th — 8PM UK / 2PM Central US
